For a New York native who grew up on the Lower East Side, moving to the far smaller city of Portland, Oregon might bring a sense of isolation that is hard to shake. For hip-hop-inspired soul artist Fritzwa, this is the experience behind her latest video for “Sittin Pretty,” the latest single off of her debut album Avenue A. Boasting a genre-bending sound reminiscent of Erykah Badu, “Sittin’ Pretty” is a vulnerable exploration of the solitude Fritzwa felt after moving from the Big Apple to the City of Roses, re-affirming her journey through the obstacle of loneliness.
